Pd. Pol. Adv. Laura Norton Treasurer 163 E. Pathfinders Circle The Woodlands TX 77381

Meet Me

I graduated with an accounting degree from The College of William & Mary in 1994. I passed the CPA exam and went to work for KPMG's Chicago office in their healthcare practice.  I worked in tax, audit and consulting while in Chicago and got to know Houston from a year-long project when I commuted to Houston from Chicago.

In 1997 I began working for Hewitt Associates - a benefits consulting firm in a Chicago suburb. While with Hewitt I transferred to The Woodlands in 1998; I've lived in The Woodlands 18 years.

When I first moved to The Woodlands I was drawn to get involved because Entergy was planning a high-tension power line project that would have run right through The Woodlands, down Gosling.  Our mantra was "go around [The Woodlands] or underground".  The power lines are now underground.  In the early 2000s I served on the Cochran's Crossing Residential Design and Review Board, the Cochran's Crossing Village board and on The Woodlands Community Associations Board. During my time in The Woodlands I've graduated from Leadership Montgomery County, Sheriff's Citizen Police Academy, CERT training, got my Extra Class Ham Radio license KG5BOO and most recently I'm part of a new charitable organization called Aging In Place - The Woodlands; I'm their treasurer.

I very much want to get involved where I think I can really help.  I've made friends in my time here in this fantastic master-planned community, many are on other MUD boards of The Woodlands.  They've educated me about the MUDs and have great ideas that they've introduced - like consolidation.  Whether we become a city or not it simply doesn't make sense to continue indefinitely with ten MUDs.  We all want quality water and to never to see our sewage again.  We just need one accountable and transparent board to accomplish this, not 10 MUDs with 50 directors.

Thank you for visiting my webpage and thank you for your vote; in the last election a contest was won by one vote. Certainly every vote counts and a single vote for Laura Norton is a vote for savings through consolidation!  Click on my Facebook link to like my MUD 47 page. My MUD 47 Facebook page also contains pertinent letters to the editor that I've posted.  Also, fans of my page will get updates in their feed.
